To all current members of COPE Local 131,
As most of you are aware our current collective agreement has been open since July 1, 2016. Over the past year your Union council has met several times with representatives of YP management for the purposes of bargaining our next collective agreement.
Through the course of those discussions we have been asked to consider an extension of our current agreement through to June 30, 2018. This extension will allow your Union to consider upcoming changes and to utilize that information to be better equipped to bargain on your behalf. Other sales groups in Quebec and Western Canada have already extended their own agreements under the same conditions and for the same reasons.
The extension will take into account the periods of July 2016 to June 2017, and July 2017 to June 2018. For the period that has already passed there will be a retroactive application of a salary increase to all sales groups that were in part of the bargaining unit as of July 2016. There will also be a further salary increase applied to ALL of our members effective July 2017.
Each and every member is required to participate in the upcoming vote on the ratification of this extension.

Please remember that the email you register must be a personal one, and NOT your YP email.
There will also be matters relating to the COPE Local 131 constitution and dues that will be voted on as well.
There will be upcoming conference calls and meetings to provide members with the opportunity to ask questions and get all the information on how and when they need to vote. A schedule of the meeting and conference call info will soon follow.
